Prime Minister visits the Chief Incumbent of the historical Navagamuwa Rajamaha Vihara, Maha Nayake of Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha, Malwane Pagnnasara Thera.

The Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena participated in religious ceremonies at the historical Navagamuwa Rajamaha Viharaya and Paththini Devalaya (Shrine of the Goddess Paththini) on 04.01.2023 and received blessings from Malwane Pagnnasara Thera, Maha Nayake of Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha.

The Chief Incumbent of the historical Navagamuwa Rajamaha Vihara, Malwane Pannasara Thera explained that “ Navagamuwa sacred land and Paththini Devalaya are not strange places for the Prime Minister. Prime Minister’s grandfather Boralugoda Ralahami took charge of the site and worked to develop this place”.

The Prime Minister visited the Paththini Devalaya even when he was a child and participated in various events and did various activities for the development of this place, added Maha Nayake Thera.

“Because of your patience and dedication for the country and the people, you became the Prime Minister of this country today. As a person who works for the country and the nation with commitment, your current position is important for the future of the country," he mentioned further and stated that the Prime Minister has a great responsibility to fulfill the needs of this temple and he expressed confidence that those duties will be continued in the future as well.

Member of Parliament Mr. Yadamini Gunawardena also joined the Prime Minister on the occasion and received blessings on his birthday. Mr. Jayantha Rohana, chairman of Sithwaka Pradeshiya Sabha and members of Kaduwela Municipal Council also participated at this event.
