The Prime Minister thanks Cuba for its support to Sri Lanka

A meeting between Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Cuban Ambassador Andres Marshelo Gonzales Garrido took place on 17.08.2022 at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo.

The Prime Minister stated that he is committed to further develop the deep friendship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to exchange new scientific and technological innovations in agricultural sector between the two countries.

The Ambassador said that he was happy with the successful experiments carried out by the Sri Lankan Coconut Research Center and mentioned that he is working to get coconut saplings for cultivation in his country.
The ambassador further stated that there is scope to develop cooperation in food production, farming and animal husbandry sectors in Sri Lanka.

The ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for strengthening the friendship between the two countries by holding the presidency of the Cuba-Sri Lanka Friendship Association until recently.

Mr. Anura Dissanayake Secretary to the Prime Minister also participated in this event.
