Japanese Ambassador calls on Prime Minister.

Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki called on Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo 07 recently.
During this meeting, it was discussed regarding the longstanding friendship as well as the cultural and economic relations between Japan and Sri Lanka that spanned more than seven decades. The attention was also focused on the current situation in Sri Lanka and the ways and means that Japan could extend their assistance at this difficult time. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian aid provided to Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister said that he expects Japan’s fullest support for Sri Lanka’s in discussions with the International Monetary Fund.
He added that through the aid, grants, loans and loan assistance provided by Japan to Sri Lanka, there was a huge infrastructure development in the country. Many projects are still in operation and the Prime Minister requested continued support in the same manner. He expressed appreciation for the support provided to strengthen the public service in Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador said that for the first time, the renewable energy and power sectors have been added to the investment approval list under the carbon credit programme that will be beneficial to Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister’s Secretary Mr. Anura Dissanayake also joined this event.
