Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang offered best wishes to Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena for New Year, which China considers most auspicious ’Year of the Dragon’.
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Shenhong called on the Prime Minister at the Temple Trees Office in Colombo today (January 9) to handover the special greeting card from the Chinese Premier.
Ambassador Qi Shenhong said he was pleased to see the resilience of Sri Lanka to overcome difficulties and assured China’s continuous support to Sri Lanka’s efforts to modernized agriculture.
Chinese Ambassador said China would commence a program of sharing Chinese expertise on development of hi-yielding rice with Sri Lanka and it would be launched by the forthcoming Yala Season.
Prime Minister’s Secretary Mr. Anura Dissanayake and senior Chinese diplomats were also present on this occasion.
