On 26.03.2024, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was respectfully welcomed by the Chairman of the People’s National Assembly of China, i.e. the Speaker, Mr. Zhao Leji, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China.
Common matters of the historical relations between the two countries as well as the friendship between the people of the two countries in the past decades were discussed.
There was a special discussion regarding getting Smart Class Rooms for 1000 schools in Sri Lanka this year.
The special experiences of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Chinese Speaker Mr. Zhao Leji in the Parliament and People’s Assemblies respectively and in long-term politics with the public were also discussed .
Talks were held about appropriate knowledge sharing, training, and technical exchanges between the legislative assemblies and public officials of the two countries for gaining public achievements.
