The United Nations has focused on reforming education and digitizing the public sector in Sri Lanka.
Attention was drawn to this during a discussion held between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and United Nations Assistant Secretary General Ms. Kanni Wignaraja at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday (14) afternoon.
Ms. Kanni Wignaraja, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, offered her best wishes to the Prime Minister.
Special attention was paid to developing cooperation between Sri Lanka and the United Nations for the sustainable development of Sri Lanka, supporting community safety, social security, and educational reforms and modernizing the public sector through digital transformation.
Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Mahinda Gunaratne, United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative Azusa Kubota, UNDP Digital and Innovation Team Leader Fadil Bakir and UN Human Rights Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dayani Mendis participated in this event.
