The Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, emphasized the necessity of providing a high-quality education to every child in Sri Lanka.

A visit to inspect the current status of the Trilingual National School under construction in Kaduruwela, Polonnaruwa with the assistance of the Government of India and a special discussion on the future work of the school was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on 14th February.

Financial assistance from this year’s budget to develop coconut cultivation

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated in Parliament today (05) that the coconut shortage has arisen due to the fact that no government has had a proper policy to develop coconut cultivation.

The Prime Minister stated that the current government is formulating a proper policy to develop coconut cultivation and that several short-term programmes are being followed in this regard.

The government plans to simplify the application process for the President’s Fund, allowing citizens to apply at the Divisional Secretariat Division level, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya announced in Parliament on February 5.

To achieve this, the President’s Fund is expanding its application acceptance services across all 341 Divisional Secretariat Divisions, facilitating payments through Divisional Secretariat Offices, and providing essential training to officers handling fund-related matters.

Additionally, a new digital system will be introduced to streamline these operations. This system will enable online applications, making the fund more accessible and efficient for the public.
