Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS), built a distinguished career with a proven track record in strategic leadership and policy implementation. As the current Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr. Saputhanthri brings his extensive experience across numerous key government portfolios, including Commissioner General of the Department for Registration of Persons and Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment.
Mr. Saputhanthri holds a Master's degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Colombo and a Master's in Development Studies and Public Policy from the Open University of Sri Lanka. His academic achievements also include Postgraduate Diplomas in Monitoring and Evaluation, and Development Studies. He is also an Attorney-at-Law, further enhancing his versatile skill set.
Research interests of Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri primarily focus on migration and legal frameworks. His work has explored into the migration of skilled workers in Sri Lanka and the critical analysis of human smuggling laws. These projects, undertaken as part of his advanced studies, reflect his commitment to addressing pressing socio-economic issues.
Throughout his career, Mr. Saputhanthri has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing programs across various ministries, contributing to sustainable development, workforce management, and education initiatives. His strong foundation in public administration, law, and policy analysis positions him to drive development of Sri Lanka in good governance and administrative capabilities.
