The National Operations Room Committee of the Prime Minister’s Office that met at Temple Trees under the chairmanship of Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake has decided to resume the project for construction of the Matale Civil Appellate High Court building immediately.

This decision was taken to avoid possible financial loss to the government after considering the issues that may arise due to the continued suspension of this project.

It was also decided to extend the deadline for completion of the Kandy City Wastewater Management Project to 31st December.

The Cabinet of Ministers has previously decided to close the Project Management Unit in 2022 and the remaining work to be done by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

Here, it was emphasized that a detailed report to be submitted by the Water Supply Board to the committee regarding the continuation of this project, which is currently in its final stage and has been suspended due to various issues.

Accordingly, to complete the project, one hundred million rupees each per month will be provided for seven months and steps will be taken to provide it according to the vote of ministerial allocations.
