On October 15 - International White Cane Day, we celebrate the remarkable strength, independence and resilience of visually impaired people.
The white cane symbolizes their freedom to navigate the world with respect and confidence. It highlights the importance and necessity of building an integrated society where accessibility, support and empowerment are at the core.
International White Cane Day was declared with the aim of ensuring that persons with visual impairments enjoy equal and fair opportunities and rights as dignified citizens.
We are committed to upholding the rights of people with visual impairments by improving access to spaces, enhancing educational and employment opportunities, and strengthening our services for their well-being. We will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure this.
I invite you all to join us in working towards this cause.
