The closing ceremony of the Official Language Week held under the patronage of Prime Minister....

The Official Languages Day ceremony was held today (05.07.2024) at Colombo (SLIDA) under the patronage of Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena.

The week starting from 01st of July every year is named as the Official Language Week and in line with the Official Language Week, the National Language Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, the Department of Official Languages, the Official Language Commission and the National Institute of Language Education and Training, together implemented a number of programmes on the island wide level.

A group including State Minister Ashoka Priyantha, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration Pradeep Yasaratne, Commissioner of Official Language Commission D. Kalansuriya, Director General of the Department of Official Languages Prince Senadheera, and Professor Emeritus J.B. Dissanayake participated in this event.
