Kohuwala flyover was vested in the public ...

The flyover constructed at the Kohuwala junction above the Horana-Colombo main road was vested in the public today (17.07.2024) by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena as a solution to the heavy traffic congestion at the Kohuwala junction.

The Ministry of Transport and Highways, under the supervision of the Road Development Authority built this flyover by the Hungarian Betonepitto Company, and Access Engineering Company acted as its Sri Lankan representative. The construction was started on 16 August 2021, and it is 254 meters long and 9.4 meters wide. It cost 3599 million rupees.

A group including Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Members of Parliament Premanath C. Dolawatta, Yadamini Gunawardena, former Minister Sunethra Ranasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Highways Eng. Ranjith Rubasinghe, Chairman of the Road Development Authority Chaminda Athaluvage, Director General of the Road Development Authority Priyantha Suriyabandara, Chairman of the Development Lotteries Board Ajith Naragala, resident representative of Betonepitto Company Karoli Singhal participated in this event.
