Prime Minister pays attention to the problems faced by the nursing service

A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and representatives of the All Ceylon Nurses Union was held yesterday (31) at the Prime Minister’s Office.

They presented the problems that have affected the maintaining the nursing service as a formal, qualitative and efficient service at present.

The representatives commented on the matters of nursing education is not updated according to global situations, the existing issues in the nursing service minute, the nursing council, neglected by the existing governments, the loss of life to the nurse, the lack of nurses, the nursing service not being an all island service, the community health nursing service is not properly established, and nursing service not directly utilized for the development of the country.

The Prime Minister pointed out that health care is a service that should be rendered collectively as a group.

Medawatta, President Ravindra Kahadawa Arachchi, Organizing Secretary Amila Rathnayake, Treasurer Suren Daulagala, Education Secretary Prabhath Pilipana, Vice President Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Vice Secretary Saman Wijethilaka and a group representing the said union participated in this event.
