A discussion on regulating school student transport services was held on the 09th of February at the Prime Minister’s Office under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, with the participation of officials from the National Transport Commission and the Ministry of Education.

The authority for regulating school student transport has been vested with the National Transport Commission, and as the relevant draft of regulations have already been prepared, discussions were held on the provisions contained in these drafts as well as on new proposals that should be incorporated.

Marking a major transformation in Sri Lanka’s vocational education sector, the Government has decided to develop and modernize 25 technical colleges located across all the 25 districts in line with contemporary global standards.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the decisions and judgments delivered within the Supreme Court complex serve as a mirror that clearly reflects the justice, democracy, and the rule of law in Sri Lanka.

The decision has been finalized regarding the disputed module, and the Government has not incurred any loss due to the printing of modules

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the Government will ensure that Grade 6 students are not subjected to any injustice, that a decision has already been taken regarding the disputed module, and that no financial loss has been incurred by the Government as a result of printing the modules.

Members of the National Student Parliament met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on the 02nd of February at Temple Trees.

Arrangements have been finalized to bring the sacred bodily relics of the Buddha to Sri Lanka. The sacred bodily relics were first discovered in the 1960s in the Gujarat region of India, the birthplace of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These sacred relics, which have never before been taken outside India, will be made available for veneration by the people of Sri Lanka.
