The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, met today with Mr. Marc-André Franche, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, at the Parliament, to reaffirm and enhance the ongoing partnership between the Government of Sri Lanka and the United Nations system.

During the meeting, Mr. Franche reiterated the UN’s continued commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s priorities in areas such as social protection, healthcare, and reconciliation. Prime Minister attends the President’s Trophy Rugby Tournament.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya attended the finale of the inter-school knockout rugby tournament for the President’s Trophy between Isipathana College, Colombo and Trinity College, Kandy, held today (18 May) at the Royal College Sports Complex in Colombo.

Isipathana College, which holds the record for the highest number of President’s Trophy championship, successfully qualified for the final after defeating Royal College, Colombo with a score of 24–17 in the semi-finals held last week recording the 29th appearance in the finals, and once again secured the victory in this year’s championship.
