Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the President’s Fund has been transformed into a people-centred fund and that ensuring equal access to education for all children is a key policy of the Government.

The third meeting of the Cabinet Subcommittee appointed to oversee the development of 25 Technical and Vocational Colleges under the Department of Technical Education and Training was held today (09) at the Parliament Complex under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

Admissions to Grade One in 2027 to be carried out under a new circular

Government focusing on limiting social media use by children under 16

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the Government has drawn attention to introducing measures to prohibit or restrict social media use by children under the age of 16 in Sri Lanka, and has taken action to prepare a new national programme to prevent child abuse and the admissions to Grade One in 2027 to be carried out under a new circular.

The contribution of the Colombo Plan to Sri Lanka’s development journey is commendable

The 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Colombo Plan was held on 03 July at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

Delivering the keynote address, the Prime Minister stated that the Colombo Plan was established 75 years ago at a time when many Asian nations were embarking on the path to independence while confronting challenges of post-war reconstruction and economic development.
