Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said that a reliable path can be created for the future generation by increasing productivity.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the "National Productivity Awards 2020" held at Temple Trees on 15.12.2022. The award ceremony organized by the National Productivity Secretariat, was held this year in recognition of the most effective and efficient institutions in various sectors such as Public, production, schools, piriven etc.

A large scale container factory to be established in Trincomalee
Yakdong Industries Co. Ltd- one of the 10 leading companies in Korea has invested US$ 50 million in the establishment of a large scale container manufacturing factory in Trincomalee.
The Chairman Heung Seok Gwon and the vice Chairman Kyeong Won Shin of Yakdong Industries Co.Ltd met with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the Prime Minister&rsquos Office yesterday (14) and assured that the constructions of the factory will be completed soon so as to commence production within the next six months.

Prime Minister calls for a UN Day of Humanity
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena called on the United Nations to declare a Humanity Day under the UN calendar.
Speaking at the International Convention of Peacemakers for Universal Harmony held in Colombo at the Sri Lanka Foundation, he urged the participants to examine his proposal and take up following action as the rapid deterioration of human values is a very dangerous threat to the mankind.

Prime Minister meets European Union envoys
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena held a discussion with the Ambassadors of member countries of the European Union at the Temple Trees yesterday (Dec 7).
The Prime Minister briefed them on the steps taken by the government with regard to establishing economic, social and political stability and the results thereof.
The envoys who took part in the discussion included European Union Ambassador, Denis Chibi, Ambassador of Germany, Holger Seubert, Ambassador of the Netherlands, Bonnie Horbach, Ambassador of France, Jean-Francois Pactet and Charge d’Affaires of Embassy of Romania, Victor Tiudjia. Vice President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Shixen Chen said international monetary agencies are highly impressed with the strength of the Sri Lankan leadership and its commitment to achieve speedy economic revival through reforms in monetary sectors.

Leading Chinese companies to enter industrial trade zones in Sri Lanka
Some of the leading Chinese investors expressed their interest to make large scale investments in selected industrial zones established by the government. They called on Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the Prime Minister’s Office in Parliament on December 1st and stated interest in establishing industries in Trincomalee, Hambantota and other industrial zones.
