Clarification of the fake news ’biggest land robbery’
There is absolutely no truth in the allegation levelled against Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in the above interview with the title, ’Biggest Land Robbery’ broadcast on CNB – Truth With Chamuditha YouTube News Brief on September 19, 2023.
The fabricated statement made in the broadcast that Ven Hadapangoda Mahinda Thera, the chief incumbent of Rajamaha Vihara of Kiriella, is a relative of the Prime Minister is completely false.
The Prime Minister opposed every attempt to harm the “Vihara Devalagam Act” and during his decades long activities as a public representative, he worked for the benefit of Buddha Sasana on all the issues pertaining to temples and sacred sites. Furthermore, Gazette notifications were issued naming the largest number of sacred sites and provided infrastructure facilities to the temples and solved problems of various temples when he was the Minister of Poojabhoomi.
Frequent meetings and discussions were held with the Mahasangha with regard to the above issues. These fake news fabricators should understand that all these work was done for the perpetuation of the Buddhist order.
I vehemently reject the allegations levelled against the Prime Minister in this interview named, ’Biggest Land Robbery’, which was another planned propaganda aimed at the Mahasangha and national leaders. I reiterate that all the accusations are absolutely false and malicious. I demand an immediate correction.
